At Self Rez Coffee Co., we take our flavored coffee seriously—but not too seriously. Because when it comes to flavor, balance is everything.
We’re proud to use only USDA Certified Organic flavorings in all of our flavored coffees. That means no questionable additives, no weird aftertastes, and no shortcuts. Whether it’s a bold whiskey kick or a smooth caramel finish, every flavor we add is either a natural extract, organic spice, or an organic flavor oil. Now, while organic doesn't always mean 100% natural (some organic-compliant oils can still be classified as "artificial" under labeling laws), we ensure every ingredient meets strict USDA organic standards—so you always know exactly what’s in your cup.
Two Ways, Same Great Result
Depending on how you like your coffee—whole bean or ground—we tailor the flavoring process to get you the best result:

Whole Bean Orders
Flavored by hand at the time of bagging. Since we roast in small batches, we can customize each order with organic flavor oils that coat the beans lightly and absorb beautifully—without overwhelming the natural taste. -
Ground Coffee Orders
Ground coffee loses flavor faster, so we use an organic powder-based flavoring that blends seamlessly and holds flavor longer during storage. This keeps your cup tasting fresh even after a few weeks on the shelf.
Why We Don’t Use Flavor Syrups or Heavy Oils
A lot of commercial flavored coffees rely on heavily dosed syrups or artificial oils—but we steer clear of those for a few good reasons:

They're tough on equipment. Thick syrups and heavy oils can clog grinders, coat burrs, and build up in roasters, making maintenance a nightmare and risking contamination across batches.

They often contain chemicals like diacetyl, which has raised health concerns in the past and is a compound we’d never want in your cup (or ours).

They mask real flavor. We’re here to enhance great coffee—not cover it up with something sticky and artificial.
Flavor That Enhances, Not Hides
We believe coffee should taste like… well, coffee. Every flavored roast starts with high-quality, specialty-grade beans that already have natural tasting notes of chocolate, fruit, caramel, or spice. We carefully select origins and roast profiles that complement the intended flavor, and then we lightly enhance those notes with just enough extract, oil, or powder to bring it to life.
We use the bare minimum amount of flavoring—just enough to round it out and make it pop, without overpowering what the bean already brings to the table.
